The Role
As the Accountant, you will manage the daily financial operations of the hotel, ensuring compliance with international hospitality accounting standards and Nigerian tax laws. You will partner closely with department heads and executive management to maximize profitability while maintaining the highest levels of financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, P&L reports
- Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitor hotel expenditures, analyze variances, and work with the Food & Beverage and Operations teams to manage inventory and reduce waste.
- Revenue Audit: Oversee the daily night audit process, ensuring all room, banquet, and ancillary revenues are accurately reconciled and recorded.
- Tax & Compliance: Manage timely filing and remittance of all statutory deductions VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT in compliance with FIRS and LIRS regulations.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit management, and daily cash flow forecasting.
- Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen internal control policies to safeguard hotel assets and prevent fraud.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- ACA, ACCA, or CPA qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience in the hospitality industry is mandatory
- Proficiency in hospitality ERP systems QuickBooks, and advanced MS Excel.
- Exceptional analytical skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality.
