Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial documentation.
  • Record and reconcile daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of financial records and supporting documents.

Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Generate financial reports to support management decision-making.
  • Analyse financial data and provide insights on business performance.
  • Monitor income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and cash flow.

Regulatory Compliance & Tax Management:
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and remit taxes, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and other statutory obligations.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and tax authorities when required.
  • Support internal and external audit activities.

Budgeting & Financial Planning:
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and report variances.
  • Support management in financial planning and cost-control initiatives.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up where necessary.
  • Reconcile customer and vendor accounts regularly.

Internal Controls & Risk Management:
  • Implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting best practices.
  • Support fraud prevention and financial risk monitoring initiatives.

Payroll Administration:
  • Assist with payroll processing and salary reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate computation and remittance of statutory deductions.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a financial services, fintech, microfinance, or lending institution.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
