Role Overview:
- Assistant Production Supervisor Jobs in Lusaka As the Assistant Production Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in managing daily operations within our production facility.
- You will act as the essential link between production planning and execution on the floor, supervising pressroom operators, finishing teams, and prepress staff.
- Your leadership will ensure that all print jobs are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.
- Experience with production lines and familiarity with digital or flexographic printing processes will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities Production Scheduling & Execution:
- Develop and implement daily production schedules that optimize machine usage and minimize downtime across printing and finishing operations.
Staff Supervision:
- Lead and coordinate machine operators, production staff, and prepress technicians to maintain efficient shift coverage and high performance.
Quality Control:
- Enforce stringent quality standards to prevent misprints, reduce material waste, and avoid rejected work.
Inventory & Resource Management:
- Track stock levels and consumables, collaborating with procurement to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance activities in partnership with maintenance teams and machine operators.
Safety & Compliance:
- Maintain a clean and safe production environment by enforcing local safety regulations, PPE usage, machine guarding, and safe handling of chemicals and solvents.
- Qualifications and Skills Minimum of internship experience to one year in a supervisory role within a commercial production environment, or a diploma in Production Management.
- Technical knowledge of prepress workflows, color theory, and print finishing operations is a strong advantage.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities with the capacity to work effectively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and guide production personnel.
