Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement annual marketing plans, strategies and budgets aligned to the Sacco’s growth objectives.
- Drive new member recruitment and product uptake through targeted marketing campaigns and community engagement.
- Develop and manage marketing communications across digital platforms, social media, newsletters and the Sacco’s website.
- Build and manage partnerships and business development opportunities in liaison with the CEO.
- Lead, supervise and develop the marketing and customer service team.
- Conduct market research to inform strategy and ensure the Sacco remains responsive to member needs and industry trends.
Minimum Requirements
- A university degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Business Management or a related field is required, while a diploma in Marketing, Co-operative Management or Mass Communication is an added advantage
- At least four years’ experience in marketing and business development, preferably within the Sacco or financial services sector.
- Membership of the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) or a relevant professional body is an advantage.
Competencies, Skills and Specific Experience
- Strong business development and sales orientation, with ability to identify, pursue and convert growth opportunities into measurable membership, deposits and revenue outcomes.
- Practical experience in member recruitment, product promotion, market activation and customer acquisition within a SACCO, microfinance institution, bank or financial services environment.
- Good understanding of SACCO products, member segments, deposit mobilisation, credit products and the cooperative business model.
- Strong marketing planning and execution skills, including preparation of marketing plans, campaign budgets, activity calendars and performance reports
