HerCapital Impact Advisors (HCIA) is a Botswana-based sustainable development consultancy and advisory firm working at the intersection of ESG, impact investing and development finance. We help businesses, investors and institutions integrate environmental, social and governance considerations into strategy, operations, investment decisions and projects across Africa. We are seeking a proactive, commercially minded Business Development Officer to build our ESG project pipeline, develop client relationships and convert opportunities into assignments.

Key Responsibilities
- Originate: identify, research and qualify ESG, sustainability, impact and development finance opportunities.
- Propose: develop proposals, EOIs, technical and commercial offers, pitch decks and client presentations.
- Manage the pipeline: maintain CRM records, opportunity trackers and follow-up schedules.
- Build relationships: engage corporates, financial institutions, investors, DFIs, government agencies and development partners.
- Research: track markets, sectors, competitors and emerging ESG requirements to spot client needs.
- Represent HCIA: arrange client meetings, support stakeholder engagements and attend networking events and industry forums.
Requirements
- Qualification: degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Environmental/Sustainability or Development Studies, Marketing or a related field.
- Communication: strong written, verbal, presentation and relationship-management skills.
- Insight: able to research markets, analyse information and turn insights into practical opportunities.
- Drive: self-driven, organised and commercially aware; manages multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Tools: Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; CRM and proposal development experience is an advantage.
- Interest: knowledge of, or strong interest in, ESG, sustainable finance, impact investing and development projects in Africa.
