CHIEF PILOT
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting directly to the Flight Operations Manager to whom contractual authority has been granted to ensure that all activities undertaken by Wilderness Air Botswana are carried out in accordance with the Flight Operations Manual in terms of the applicable requirements prescribed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana and the Wilderness Air, Air Service licenses.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
- Full and effective control of Wilderness Air Botswana Pilots which includes but not limited to, the safe, efficient, legal and correct conduct of pilots.
- Oversee all operational planning and briefing, as well as all related duties and functions of the aircrew whilst on flight duty in liaison with the Flight Operations Manager.
- Building relationships with crew through interaction and dissemination of information.
- Overall supervision of the aircrew in their allocated duties other than flight duty.
- Maintain and update the Wilderness Air Flight Operations Manual, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), the AIC’s, the AIP’s, NOTAM’s, relevant aviation legislation and the approved flight planning program in liaison with the Flight Operations Manager.
- Setting and upholding the minimum standards of flight crew.
- Set up, monitoring and implementation of the checking department in order to measure the standards of flight crew.
- Identifying replacement crew and initiating the recruitment procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must hold a Commercial Pilots License as a minimum.
- Must have C208 rating.
- Minimum of 1500 total flying hours.
- 5 years working experience in the aviation industry.
- Previous experience as a Flight Instructor.
- Exceptional knowledge of Civil Aviation Regulations.
- Experience in tourist charter type operations is an added advantage.
