Consultancy: Construction of a New Pediatric Eye Unit at Mzuzu Central Hospital

CBM Christoffel-Blindenmission Christian Blind Mission e.V. (CBM) invites qualified multidisciplinary Architectural and Engineering Consultancy Firms with demonstrated experience in construction supervision, contract administration and healthcare infrastructure projects to provide Construction Supervision and Contract Management Services for the proposed Paediatric Eye Unit at Mzuzu Central Hospital, Malawi. The assignment is anticipated to span approximately 60 weeks and will cover the period from commencement of construction through to the end of the Defects Liability Period

 About the Project:

The project comprises the construction of a new Paediatric Eye Unit at Mzuzu Central Hospital, including associated civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and external works.

The purpose of this consultancy is to provide contract management and construction supervision services from start of construction to end of the defect’s liability period. The assignment includes design review, construction supervision, contract administration, quality assurance, environmental and social compliance monitoring, health and safety oversight, progress monitoring and reporting, interim payment certification, testing and commissioning, review of project close-out documentation and defects liability period management.

Interested consultancy firms should submit a technical and financial proposal comprising the following:

• Company profile and brief description of the consultancy firm.
• Detailed CVs of proposed key personnel, including the Team Leader/Resident Engineer, Clerk of Works/Site Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Environmental and Social Specialist, and other relevant specialists.
• Technical proposal demonstrating understanding of the assignment, methodology, and work plan.
• Portfolio of similar healthcare facility construction supervision and contract management assignments, including project size, client, location, services provided and year completed.
• Financial proposal with an itemized budget for professional services.
• Proposed implementation schedule demonstrating alignment with the anticipated construction programme and availability of key personnel.
• Company registration documents, legal status, and tax compliance certificates.
