About the Role:

Coordinator Long Term Planning Jobs in Kalumbila Reporting directly to the Superintendent – Strategic Planning, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of Life of Mine (LOM) budget plans and Life of Assets mine plans.

The role demands ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-efficient execution of all long-term mine planning services, while championing Barrick’s core values of integrity, accountability, and zero harm.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and optimizing annual budget and LOM plans to meet company targets and support cost and financial modeling.
• Regularly updating long-term plans based on mining performance and new data insights.
• Utilizing Deswik LHS software to develop and optimize LOM fleet schedules.
• Assisting in mineral reserves reporting compliant with NI-43-101 standards.
• Supporting scoping and pre-feasibility studies for potential mineral projects.
• Preparing mineral reserve estimates aligned with international standards.
• Conducting optimizations and scenario analyses for new and existing ore bodies.
• Designing cost-effective and production-efficient pit and dump layouts for medium and short-term planning, including RoM pads and haul roads.
• Determining cut-off grades and monitoring pit designs to meet operational criteria.
• Proposing improvements in geotechnical and technological aspects to enhance long-term mine output.
• Ensuring mine planning services meet operational and project requirements.
• Incorporating environmental policies and strategies into mine plans.
• Overseeing employee training plans and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Candidate Requirements To be considered for this coordinator long term planning job in Kalumbila, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant mining industry experience, specifically in large open pit mine planning, design, and production engineering.
• Proficiency in Deswik scheduling software, Evolution, and Vulcan planning software.
• Experience with mine optimization software such as Whittle 4x.
• Strong mentoring abilities to develop Short-Term and Medium-Term Planning engineers.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Membership in the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) is mandatory.
• Technical report writing skills are an advantage.
