Job Description

Datalogic is looking for a skilled and motivated Application Engineer to join our South Africa team and help grow the business for retail clients. As an AE, you will play a crucial role in supporting the sales team in a pre-sale's activities, demonstrating technical aspects and benefits of our products to partners and potential customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact with partners and end users to understand their needs and support them in business development by trainings, product demonstrations.
• Provide technical support during the sales process, including customer meetings and presentations.
• Collaborate with the global sales team on project follow-ups, verification of product quality, correct solution selection
• Support the technology sales efforts of the global sales team.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to drive the success of Datalogic products by providing customer feedback and staying current with industry trends and new technologies.

Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• Languages: Fluency in English; other foreign languages are a plus
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing role as a Technical Consultant, Pre-Sales Engineer, Project Manager or similar. Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics;

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to work independently with minimal instruction.
• Presentation skills to demonstrate hardware, software and value propositions.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel as required for client meetings and events
• Understanding of Retail and Manufacturing market
• Experience with Windows and Android operating systems
• Experience with Self-shopping applications
• Experience in project management
• Basic software development skills
• Other foreign languages are in plus

Compensation & Benefits:

• Annual Base Salary (RAL): 600.000,00 ZAR - 750.000,00 ZAR
• Variable compensation

The final compensation package (including base salary and potential variable incentives) will be defined based on the candidate's experience, technical expertise, and overall fit for the role.
