Minimum Requirements:
- Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic qualification
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience working on heavy mining or earthmoving equipment
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience on equipment such as CAT, Komatsu, Bell, Hitachi, Volvo, or similar
- Valid driver’s license
Key Responsabilities:
- Supervising and leading a team of diesel mechanics and assistants
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy-duty diesel machinery
- Managing preventative and breakdown maintenance schedules
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
- Conducting inspections and quality checks on completed repairs
- Coordinating parts, tools, and maintenance requirements
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring junior staff
- Maintaining accurate maintenance and service records
- Working closely with site management to ensure operational efficiency
Skills: - Good communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of health and safety standards within mining or construction environments
- Willingness to work overtime or shifts when required
Advantageous- Experience in opencast mining environments
- OEM training certifications
- Computer literacy and maintenance reporting experience
- Valid medical fitness certificate for mine sites
