We are seeking a responsible, experienced, and safety-conscious Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting staff, goods, and company materials safely and efficiently while ensuring proper maintenance and care of company vehicles. The ideal candidate must possess valid driving permits for Classes B, C, C1, and CE and have a strong commitment to road safety and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport staff, visitors, goods, and materials to designated locations.
- Ensure timely collection and delivery of goods, documents, and passengers.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips.
- Check fuel, oil, water, brakes, tires, lights, and other vehicle components regularly.
- Report vehicle faults, accidents, and maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper condition of assigned vehicles.
- Keep accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, mileage, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure all vehicle documentation, insurance, and licenses remain valid and up to date.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods when necessary.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules efficiently.
- Adhere to company health, safety, and security procedures at all times.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Valid Ugandan driving permit with Classes B, C, C1, and CE.
- Minimum of 3 years proven driving experience.
- Good knowledge of Ugandan traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Experience driving both passenger and commercial vehicles.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic offenses.
- Ability to drive long distances and work flexible hours when required.
- Basic mechanical and vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent qualification is an added advantage.
