Known for its immersive eco-tourism experiences Great Explorations/ Xigera Safari Lodge is looking for a qualified and experienced Local candidate to fill the position of Environment and Community Manager.

Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be reporting to The General Manager and will be responsible for delivering Xigera`s sustainability commitments through integrated environmental stewardship and community development. This role sits at the intersection of ecological management and people-centred programming, ensuring that neither is deprioritised in favour of the other
- The candidate must be able to ensure site operations meet all regulatory adherence, environmental approvals, pollution controls and standards
- Develop and overseeing data collection on waste management both food waste and water (quality and usage)
- Educate staff and local communities on ethical and sustainable operations of the business
- Developing and managing community programs which are in line with the company
- Identify possible environment degradation hazards and developing mitigation responses
- Educating internal staff on environmental and social protocols
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor`s Degree in Environmental Science, Public Relations, Communications Or related field.
- Must possess 5- 10 years’ work experience in community programs
- The candidate must have strong computer skills and be familiar with opera, Pastel, Microsoft and Excel
