Job Details
Factory Accountant (Temporary) - Port EliabethTo support manufacturing operations by analysing costs, monitoring stock movements, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate financial information is available for operational and strategic decision-making. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare import cost files and submit summaries for SAP updates.
  • Assist with costing, reporting, and manufacturing finance processes.
  • Support scanning projects and monitor scanning process performance.
  • Stand in for the Management Accountant when required
  • Assist with maintenance and correction of Material Master information.
  • Prepare daily production scrap reports and attend scrap meetings.
  • Compile monthly lead balancing reports inclusive of scrap sent to Frys.
  • Review and report on monthly stock count completeness across all company sites.
  • Coordinate and assist with factory stock counts.
  • Investigate stock variances and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare stock count and variance reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, procedures, and company policies.
  • Identify and report financial or operational risks within the department.
  • Assist with budgeting processes for manufacturing operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost control and operational efficiencies.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support operational and finance teams with reporting and analytical requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Management Accounting, or related field (NQF6)
  • CIMA qualification or studies towards CIMA advantageous
  • Up to 5 yearsâ experience in cost accounting, reporting, or a similar finance role
  • Manufacturing industry experience advantageous
  • Advanced MS Excel and computer literacy skills
  • SAP FI and MM experience advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Proactive, agile, and action-orientated approach
