Job Title: Finance Manager

Department: Finance

Reports To: Finance Director

1. Job Purpose

The Finance Manager is responsible for safeguarding the organization’s financial health through effective management of treasury operations, general accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance. The role ensures strong internal controls, efficient cash flow management, and full adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and established SOPs. The Finance Manager also provides strategic financial insights to support informed decision-making and sustainable business growth.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports 
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial statements 
  • Monitor financial performance and provide actionable insights to management 
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes 
  • Manage daily cash flow and ensure optimal liquidity planning 
  • Oversee bank accounts, payments, and fund transfers in line with SOPs 
  • Ensure strict adherence to cash control and authorization procedures 
  • Monitor loan facilities, repayments, and maintain banking relationships 
  • Optimize cash utilization and mitigate financial risks 
  • Supervise all accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) 
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with applicable standards 
  • Ensure timely daily sales reconciliation and reporting 
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger accuracy.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and oversee depreciation schedules 
  • Ensure full compliance with tax laws, statutory regulations, and company policies.
  • Strengthen and enforce robust internal control systems.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of findings 
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial documentation and records.
  • Oversee payroll processing in coordination with HR Ensure accuracy of salaries, benefits, and statutory deductions.
  • Monitor operational expenses and implement cost control measures 
  • Lead, supervise, and develop finance team members 
  • Coach and mentor accountants and finance staff based on performance 
  • Assign responsibilities and monitor team performance 
  • Build a high-performing, accountable, and compliant finance team 
  • Advise senior management on financial strategies, risks, and opportunities 
  • Support business expansion, investment decisions, and financial sustainability
  • Continuously improve financial systems, processes, and reporting efficiency.
  • Ensure consistent financial reporting across all required periods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor 

3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Timely and accurate financial reporting (100% compliance) 
  • Effective cash flow management and liquidity stability 
  • Budget variance maintained within acceptable thresholds  
  • Audit findings minimized and resolved promptly 
  • Full compliance with tax and regulatory requirements 
  • Reduction in financial discrepancies and operational risks
