Job Details

Duties:

  • Lead the Operational Finance function and provide strategic financial leadership across the business.
  • Drive the Revenue Assurance function, ensuring the integrity, accuracy and completeness of revenue reporting.
  • Manage operational expenditure, profitability analysis and commercial performance reporting.
  • Oversee customer number reporting, Trial Balance reconciliations and monthly revenue analysis.
  • Manage Capital Expenditure, Capitalised Labour, Work-in-Progress (WIP), Fixed Assets and Inventory accounting.
  • Evaluate business cases and capital investment proposals, presenting recommendations to Exco.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Prepare executive reporting packs, financial commentary and operational KPI reporting.
  • Develop financial models, scenario analysis and commercial evaluations to support strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee commission calculations, inventory governance and contractor-related financial controls.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, taxation legislation, audit requirements and corporate governance standards.
  • Manage internal and external audit processes while maintaining strong financial controls.
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives through automation, process optimisation and systems enhancement.
  • Manage the company's insurance portfolio and provide financial support on strategic business projects.
  • Build strong relationships with executive and operational stakeholders while leading and developing a finance team of 3–10 employees.

Education:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA(SA) – Non-negotiable)

Job Experience & Skills Required:

  • 5–10 years' post-articles experience in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Proven experience within Operational Finance and Commercial Finance.
  • Strong exposure to Revenue Assurance, Operational Expenditure, Profitability Analysis, Capex, Fixed Assets, WIP and Inventory.
  • Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and business partnering.
  • Experience presenting financial information and investment proposals to Executive Management.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing finance teams.
  • Strong financial modelling, analytical and commercial decision-support skills.
  • Experience driving finance transformation, process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • ERP experience is essential, with Sage X3 highly advantageous.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Telecommunications industry experience will be advantageous.
