Our client is a specialist fire engineering consultancy delivering advanced fire protection solutions across commercial, industrial, and high‑risk environments. The business operates in a consulting‑led, technically driven environment and works closely with multidisciplinary teams, authorities, and developers. Projects range from performance‑based fire engineering to complex compliance and suppression systems, offering engineers exposure to nationally significant and technically challenging work.

The Fire Engineer will be responsible for developing fire rational designs, deemed‑to‑satisfy fire solutions, fire suppression system designs, and smoke ventilation strategies. The role involves conducting fire risk and compliance assessments, supporting projects across ECSA stages 1–6, and collaborating with clients, authorities, and internal teams to ensure compliant, practical, and cost‑effective fire engineering outcomes.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• 3–5 years’ experience as a Fire Engineer within the fire consulting environment
• Proven experience with performance‑based fire designs (BS 7974)
• Strong knowledge of SANS 10400 (T, W, S, M) and related fire standards
• Experience designing wet and dry fire suppression systems (ASIB, SANS 10287, NFPA, FM Global)
• Exposure to special risk fire solutions (e.g. transformers, Li‑BESS)
• Smoke ventilation design experience (EN 12101)
• Sound understanding of ECSA Stages 1–6
• Fire risk and fire compliance assessment experience
