DEPARTMENT: Food Processing & Packaging
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor / COO
JOB SUMMARY
The Food Processing Staff is responsible for assisting in the processing, packaging, storage, and quality maintenance of food products produced by the company. The role ensures products are processed hygienically and according to company standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Food Processing
- Assist in washing, sorting, cutting, drying, grinding, and processing raw materials.
- Follow production procedures and recipes accurately.
- Operate basic processing equipment safely.
Packaging Operations
- Package finished products according to company standards.
- Label products correctly.
- Ensure sealing and packaging quality meet required standards.
- Prepare products for storage or dispatch.
Quality Control Support
- Check raw materials and finished products for quality.
- Report contamination, spoilage, or defects immediately.
- Ensure products meet hygiene and safety requirements.
Stock & Inventory Management
- Record incoming raw materials.
- Track packaging materials and finished goods.
- Maintain stock movement records.
- Report shortages to management.
Facility Maintenance & Hygiene
- Clean processing equipment before and after use.
- Maintain cleanliness of the processing house.
- Dispose waste properly.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
General Production Support
- Assist with loading and unloading materials.
- Support other production activities as assigned.
- Help maintain smooth workflow in the processing unit.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of SSCE / OND
- Experience in food processing is an advantage
- Good hygiene and cleanliness habits
- Ability to follow SOPs and instructions
- Physically fit and detail-oriented
- Honest and reliable
