Our client is seeking a talented Geospatial Developer to join their team in Midrand. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative GIS solutions, developing applications that support spatial analysis, mapping, and enterprise geospatial systems. The ideal candidate will have a passion for software development, strong GIS expertise, and the ability to deliver high-quality solutions within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain GIS-based applications and solutions
- Develop software solutions using C#, JavaScript, and modern web technologies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Develop and maintain spatial databases and geospatial data structures
- Support the implementation and optimisation of GIS platforms and applications
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment
- Produce technical documentation and maintain development standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and system issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and development best practices
Minimum Requirements
- Qualification in Computer Science, Geo-Informatics, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in C# development
- At least 3 years’ experience within a Spatial GIS development environment
- Experience with JavaScript and/or Angular development
- Database development experience using SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to estimate development effort and manage deliverables effectively
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
