Hairstylist Qualifications

Technical Hair Services

• Hair Preparation: Washing, rinsing, and drying clients' hair using appropriate shampoos and conditioners (e.g., for oily hair or dry scalp) .
• Cutting and Styling: Cutting, trimming, and shaping clients' hair, including wigs and hair extensions, using professional equipment. Creating hairstyles for both formal events and everyday looks, such as braids, ponytails, and buns .
• Coloring and Treatments: Applying a wide range of hair coloring techniques, like highlights, ombre, and balayage. Performing scalp treatments and applying hair treatment products as needed .
• Tool Proficiency: Using various hairstyling tools and equipment, including hair straighteners, curling irons, hot combs, and hairdryers .

Salon Hygiene & Professional Standards

• Tool Sterilization: Cleaning and sterilizing all hairdressing tools and instruments to ensure that state health and safety standards are met .
• Station Cleanliness: Maintaining the tidiness and organization of beauty stations and the salon area .

Sales, Booking & Relationship Management

• Client Relationship Building: Forming bonds with loyal customers and remembering their hairstyle preferences to ensure return visits .
• Sales: Acting as a salesperson to sell clients hair care retail products, and cross-selling hair care products or services when appropriate .
• Bookings: Managing bookings and welcoming walk-in clients .
• Payments: Operating the cash register to process client payments when necessary .

Continuous Learning

• Trend Awareness: Keeping updated on hairstyle trends, techniques, and products. Attending training sessions and workshops to improve skills .
