ROLE PURPOSE
The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to a variety of surfaces including walls, woodwork, and furniture. The painter will also be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and patching any imperfections.
MAIN OUTPUTS
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to surfaces according to project requirements
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and patching imperfections
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results
- Use brushes, rollers, and spray guns to apply paint
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with paints and chemicals
- Communicate with clients to understand their painting needs and preferences
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
The Applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (Technical Matric advantageous)
- Proven experience as a painter
- Certification in painting or related field
- Knowledge of various painting techniques
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Physical stamina to work long hours and lift heavy objects
- Valid driver's license
