2. HEAVY DUTY TRUCK MECHANICS X3
Job Description
Job performs maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy duty trucks and trailers, ensuring all vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and operating efficiently. Responsible for identifying mechanical issues and providing technical solutions to minimize vehicle breakdown.
Job Requirements and Experience
- Five years of experience as a heavy-duty truck mechanics.
- Traceable reference preferable with the transport companies.
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and vehicles systems.
- Ability to work independently, diagnose faults, and provide hands-on solutions.
- Must have hands-on experience working with Volvo, Shacman trucks and solid understanding of Cummins engines.
Responsibilities
- Performs maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy duty trucks and trailers, ensuring all vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and operating efficiently.
- Responsible for identifying mechanical issues and providing technical solutions to minimize vehicle breakdown.
Skills
- Driving Volvo or Shacman trucks and trailers (both manual and automatic gearbox)
- Mechanical knowledge
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and vehicles systems
- Ability to work independently, diagnose faults, and provide hands-on solutions
- Hands-on experience working with Volvo, Shacman trucks
- Solid understanding of Cummins engines
Qualifications
- Must be above 25 years old.
- 5+ years’ experience driving Volvo or Shacman trucks and trailers (both manual and automatic gearbox).
- Valid driver licence (Class CE & DG).
- Must be Zambian with a valid green card.
- At least 3 traceable references or certificate of service from reputable companies.
- A valid police clearance and fingerprints certificate (not older than 12 months).
- Five years of experience as a heavy-duty truck mechanics.
- Traceable reference preferable with the transport companies.
