Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging ICT lessons in line with the school's curriculum and standards.
  • Teach topics such as computer fundamentals, digital literacy, coding, internet safety, multimedia applications, and emerging technologies.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and educational technologies to enhance learning.
  • Promote critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Assessment and Reporting

  • Prepare and administer assessments, assignments, projects, and examinations.
  • Monitor and evaluate students' academic progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' performance and attendance.
  • Provide timely feedback to students and communicate progress to parents and school leadership.

Classroom Management

  • Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Manage student behaviour in accordance with school policies.
  • Ensure proper use and care of ICT equipment and resources.

ICT Laboratory Management

  • Supervise the ICT laboratory during lessons and other approved activities.
  • Ensure computers, software, and peripheral devices are used appropriately.
  • Report technical issues and collaborate with the ICT support team for resolution.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of ICT equipment and resources.

Curriculum Development

  • Contribute to the development and review of ICT schemes of work, lesson plans, and instructional materials.
  • Stay informed about developments in educational technology and integrate relevant innovations into teaching.
  • Participate in curriculum planning and departmental meetings.

Professional Development

  • Engage in continuous professional learning and training.
  • Participate in school events, staff meetings, workshops, and professional development programmes.
  • Share best practices with colleagues to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

Safeguarding and Compliance

  • Uphold safeguarding, child protection, health, and safety policies.
  • Promote responsible digital citizenship and online safety among students.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Education Technology, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification e.g., PGDE, B.Ed., TRCN certification or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years' teaching experience in ICT or Computer Studies.
  • Experience teaching learners in a primary or secondary school setting is preferred.
