Our client, a market leader and operating out of Humansdorp, is currently seeking to employ an experienced Inventory and Supply Chain Superintendent.

Requirements:

  • Matric certificate.

  • Three-year tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Financial Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in inventory or supply chain management.

  • Previous supervisory or management experience required.

  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Business Central (BC).

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in chairing disciplinary hearings and handling internal discipline.

  • Valid driver’s license and own transport essential.

  • Willingness to work overtime and on public holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the inventory and supply chain functions.

  • Ensure efficient flow of goods and materials within warehouse operations.

  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to meet operational targets.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and optimize supply chain processes.

  • Work closely with suppliers, vendors, logistics teams, and other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods.

  • Maintain all warehouse records and procedures.

  • Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of all forklifts.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to supervisors and planners to maintain optimal material levels and achieve cost savings.

  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures related to inventory and supply chain.

  • Chair and initiate disciplinary hearings as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and the company’s quality management system.

  • Train subordinates and develop team capabilities.

  • Demonstrate effective Industrial Relations (IR) skills in dealing with employees.
