Employment Information

We are seeking an experienced and solutions-driven Inventory Controller to take ownership of inventory accuracy and stock integrity. This role is responsible for maintaining effective inventory control processes, identifying risks and discrepancies, and implementing sustainable solutions that improve operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will be analytical, process-oriented, and proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement. They will work closely with multiple departments, building strong relationships to ensure accurate stock management and smooth operational execution. This position requires an individual who takes initiative, demonstrates accountability, and contributes positively to the team's success.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Control & Stock Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock integrity at all times.
  • Manage and execute cycle counts, stock counts, stock audits, and reconciliations.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor stock movements and ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Ensure adherence to inventory control procedures and warehouse best practices.
  • Support inventory planning activities through accurate reporting and analysis.

Process Improvement & Risk Management

  • Identify risks, inefficiencies, and process gaps within warehouse operations.
  • Develop and implement practical solutions to improve inventory accuracy and operational effectiveness.
  • Monitor inventory-related KPIs and recommend improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining inventory control processes and procedures.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the warehouse environment.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate and analyse inventory reports to support operational and business decision-making.
  • Track stock variances and provide recommendations to reduce inventory losses and errors.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Utilise inventory management systems and Excel to analyse trends and identify opportunities for improvement.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across warehouse, retail, procurement, finance, and other business teams.
  • Act as a key point of contact for inventory-related queries and investigations.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and operational reviews.
  • Provide constructive feedback and contribute ideas that support business objectives and team performance.

Operational Support

  • Support warehouse operations as required to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning.
  • Assist with the physical handling and movement of stock when necessary.
  • Participate in occasional weekend work during peak trading periods and annual stock-related activities.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • 3–5 years' experience in inventory control, stock management, or warehouse operations within a distribution centre or warehouse environment.
  • Proven experience managing inventory accuracy, stock reconciliations, and discrepancy investigations.
  • Experience using warehouse or inventory management systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse processes.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and moving stock and boxes when required.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00.
  • Occasional weekend work may be required during peak trading periods and annual stock-related activities.
