About the Organization
SCORE is a faith-based Non-Governmental organization operating in social development and humanitarian interventions in five woredas of Gamo zone, in two Woredas of South Omo zone in SER and in five Woredas of Borana Zone in Oromia region. The current intervention sectors include Livelihood enhancement, Conservation agriculture, WASH, health, education and women School-centered integrated community-based approach focusing on difficult to reach and marginalized communities. Currently, we also engage in humanitarian relief interventions for people affected by natural disasters in the areas where we present.
SCORE would like to hire qualified and competent IT Officer for its Coordination Office.

Salary: Based on the salary scale of the organization.
Duty station: Arba Minch and travels to locations of SCORE head office and Area Offices when needed.

Job Summary
The IT Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the SCORE’s information technology unit. S/he is the System Administrator and is responsible for the smooth operation, upgrading, and security of the SCORE’s computer systems and the training of staff therein to ensure that systems support efficient service and essential management reporting, and computer fraud is not possible. S/he is also responsible to enter data from various source documents into the computer system for storage, processing and data management purposes. S/he is responsible for managing effective and efficient operations of all IT system in the organization.
Major Responsibilities
The IT Officer will have the following responsibilities:
1 Networking, System Operations, Maintenance and Security.
Set up and maintain account (user administration):
Maintain and monitor IT systems and networks
Verify that peripherals are working properly
Quickly arrange repair for hardware in occasion of hardware failure after troubleshooting
Apply and Monitor network and system performance
Install or ensure proper installation of software.
2 Set and Oversee Implementation of IT Policies and Procedures
Create backup and recovery policy
Set up security policies for users
Update system – operating system and application software
Implement policies for the use of computer system and network
Ensure safety of all computers, data and electronic gadgets.
Organize and facilitate IT Committee of managers and users to advice on management and use of IT systems, priorities for improvements, and changes that might improve the efficiency.
Prepare IT reports and documentation.
3 Oversee Software Selection and Development.
Advise management on the most relevant and efficient information technology products in the market from time to time.
Advise the organization objectively on where IT might make a difference to the business.
4 System Use: Training and Troubleshooting
Train users on the application programs
Ensure quick and effective troubleshooting of hardware and software problems
Develop or supplement software documentation to support users
Supervise other staffs on IT related issues.
Provide technical support for employees
Any other official assignment.
5 Website and Database management
Manage the Database of the organization
Update the database regularly
Update the website of the organization regularly
Prepare, compile and sort documents for data entry
Check source documents for accuracy
Verify data and correct data where necessary
Obtain further information for incomplete documents
Update data and delete unnecessary files
Combine and rearrange data from source documents where required
Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files and forms
