Employment Information
Simbisa Brands Zimbabwe is recruiting an IT Technician to support its restaurants and offices. The successful candidate will maintain IT equipment, resolve technical problems and support Point of Sale systems and users.
Duties and responsibilities
• Provide first-line and on-site IT support across restaurants and offices.
• Install, configure and repair computers, laptops, printers and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, Wi-Fi and connectivity problems.
• Install and maintain POS systems and associated devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify potential equipment failures.
• Respond to support requests and complete repairs within required timeframes.
• Maintain asset registers, service records, work orders and technical documentation.
• Support user accounts, passwords, access permissions, email and business applications.
• Assist with IT installations, upgrades and equipment deployment for new restaurant openings.
• Maintain tools and spare parts, reporting equipment requirements.
• Escalate major or recurring technical problems.
• Follow IT security and workplace safety procedures.
Qualifications
• Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• A relevant degree is an added advantage.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office and computer troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP and basic network troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Integrity, accountability, professionalism and customer service skills.
• POS support experience is an added advantage.
• Experience in food service, retail or a multi-site organisation is an added advantage.
• A valid driver’s licence is an added advantage.
Preference will be given to Harare-based candidates who can provide timely support to outlets in Harare and surrounding areas.
