Position Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support our finance team with daily sales tracking, payment processing, tax reporting, and other core accounting functions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and smooth operational support for our café business. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to assist with various accounting projects as needed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Record daily financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare payment vouchers and ensure supporting documents are complete.
- Reconcile bank accounts, cash accounts, and ledger balances.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents and records.
- Monitor petty cash and prepare replenishment reports.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management reports.
- Support external and internal audit activities by providing required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
Payroll Administration
- Prepare monthly payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
- Collect and verify attendance, overtime, leave records, and other payroll inputs.
- Calculate salaries, overtime, allowances, commissions, deductions, loans, and other payroll adjustments.
- Ensure statutory deductions (income tax, pension, and other mandatory deductions) are correctly calculated and processed.
- Prepare payroll summaries and payroll reports for management review.
- Coordinate with the HR Department to update employee information affecting payroll.
- Process final settlements for resigned or terminated employees.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee salary information.
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
Tax and Statutory Compliance
- Prepare tax schedules and assist in tax filings.
- Assist in preparing VAT, withholding tax, pension, and other statutory reports.
- Ensure statutory payments are made within required deadlines.
- Maintain proper documentation for tax compliance.
Financial Reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Analyze financial data and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Assist in budget preparation and expense monitoring.
Administrative Support
- Maintain organized financial records and archives.
- Prepare financial documents for management approval.
- Support other finance-related assignments as directed by the Finance Manager.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial efficiency.
