Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Capture and process financial transactions accurately within the accounting system
  • Maintain the general ledger, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Assist with monthly management accounts and variance analysis
  • Support month-end and year-end reporting processes
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure financial records remain accurate and audit-ready

Payroll Administration

  • Support end-to-end payroll processing
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including new appointments and terminations
  • Process salaries, wages, overtime, and statutory deductions
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and monthly reporting
  • Support submissions to SARS, including PAYE, UIF, and SDL
  • Handle payroll queries professionally and confidentially

Tax & Statutory Compliance

  • Assist with VAT calculations and submissions
  • Support PAYE, UIF, and SDL compliance processes
  • Ensure adherence to SARS deadlines and requirements
  • Maintain supporting schedules and compliance documentation
  • Assist with SARS audits, verifications, and queries

CIPC & Company Secretarial Support

  • Assist in maintaining Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) compliance
  • Prepare and submit annual returns
  • Maintain statutory records and company information
  • Track filing deadlines and compliance requirements
  • Support company amendments and director changes

Manufacturing & Production Finance Exposure

  • Assist with production cost tracking and reporting
  • Support inventory accounting, stock counts, and reconciliations
  • Assist with cost of goods manufactured (COGM) calculations
  • Work alongside operational teams to ensure accurate production data
  • Support cost analysis and process improvement initiatives

Audit & Internal Controls

  • Prepare supporting documentation for audits
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls
  • Assist in identifying process improvements and control gaps
  • Maintain organised and audit-ready records

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices and reconciliations
  • Assist with payment schedules and expense allocations
  • Support customer invoicing and debtor reconciliations
  • Follow up on outstanding accounts when required

Training & Development

  • Participate in structured finance and compliance training initiatives
  • Apply theoretical knowledge within a practical working environment
  • Assist in documenting financial procedures and processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects within the finance department

General Administration

  • Maintain organised filing systems and financial documentation
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Provide ad hoc support to the finance and compliance teams

Minimum Requirements

  • BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be willing to travel to Centurion 

Preferred Experience

  • 0–2 years’ experience (internships welcome)
  • Exposure to accounting software such as Sage, Pastel, or Xero
  • Basic understanding of SARS and CIPC processes
  • Exposure to a production or manufacturing environment will be advantageous
