Job Title:   Junior Quantity Surveyor-Maternity Cover (4 Months)

Job Description:

• Prepare measurements and take offs from drawings.

• Prepare Bill of Quantities for review and approval.

• Preparing precise cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.

• Prepare tenders for subcontactors and tender analysis of all quotations.

• Assisting in drafting subcontractor Contract Documents.

• Preparation and/or Review of Payment Certificates for client and subcontractors.

• Prepare and track Request for Information (RFI’s) Schedules.

• Manage budgets and track variations.

• Prepare and/or Review Variation Orders and submit for approval.

• Monitoring project expenses and providing financial updates.

• Review and/ or undertake drawings vs on-site measurement during construction.

• Prepare, Process, Reconcile and or Review Project Final Accounts.

Qualification & Experience

Education

• Diploma in Quantity Surveying (minimum)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred)

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in quantity surveying, construction cost control, or estimating.

• Experience preparing take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), payment certificates, and variation orders.

• Technical Skills

• Reading and interpreting construction drawings.

• Quantity take-offs and measurements.

• Cost estimation and budgeting.

• Tender preparation and analysis.

• Contract administration.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

• Familiarity with QS software such as CostX, WinQS, CCS Candy, Buildertrend, or similar is an advantage.

Professional Registration

• Membership with bodies such as the Surveyors Institute of Zambia or registration with the Engineering Institution of Zambia an added advantage.
