Job Summary: Provide 24/7 proactive network surveillance, identify faults, open tickets, perform basic diagnostics, and escalate incidents promptly according to defined escalation procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitor network devices, links, and customer circuits using tools such as Cacti, PRTG, Zabbix, and Solarwinds.
- Detect and log faults, alarms, and threshold breaches.
- Perform first-level diagnostics e.g., ping, traceroute, interface checks.
- Escalate issues to L2 or L3 teams following defined escalation timelines.
- Acknowledge, document, and track trouble tickets in the NOC ticketing system.
- Follow up with field teams and vendors for updates on outages.
- Ensure communication and updates are maintained throughout the incident lifecycle.
- Prepare and submit daily shift reports and network performance summaries.
Requirement/Qualifications:
- OND/HND/B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in ISP or telecom NOC environment.
- Basic knowledge of IP networking, fiber, and wireless access technologies.
- Certifications: CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and multitasking skills.
