Role Description

  • We are seeking a results-oriented Logistics Supervisor to oversee our transportation, material movement, and site-to-office supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all logistics activities from the delivery of materials to the scheduling of drivers and equipment are conducted efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with project timelines. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Port Harcourt, designed for a results-oriented professional passionate about efficient logistics and team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Fleet & Operator Coordination: Manage the daily deployment and scheduling of all transport vehicles, drivers, and heavy-duty equipment operators across multiple project sites.
  • Supply Chain Oversight: Supervise the movement of materials from head office to site locations, ensuring timely delivery and accurate documentation.
  • Operational Reporting: Monitor and verify the Equipment Utilization Reports submitted by site personnel to ensure accurate tracking of vehicle and operator productivity.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze daily logistics data to assess the efficiency of drivers and equipment, flagging any operational bottlenecks to management.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce the company’s mandatory Personal Protective Equipment PPE policy and ensure that all logistics operations adhere to site safety and regulatory standards.
  • Administrative Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between site clerks, the workshop, and head office to resolve logistical challenges and equipment downtime issues.

Qualifications

  • Strong Supervisory Skills, including team coordination and performance management
  • Excellent Communication and Customer Service abilities to interact effectively with teams and clients.
  • Proficiency in Operations Management and planning for efficient workflows.
  • Experience in Inventory Management and supply chain best practices.
  • Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics, warehouse management, or site operations, ideally within the construction or industrial sector.
  • Strong capability in data-driven decision-making and report analysis.
  • Proficiency in logistics software or spreadsheet management Excel for tracking inventory and fleet utilization.
  • Proven ability to supervise a diverse team of drivers and site staff.
  • Technical Mindset: Ability to interpret operational data to optimize transport routes and vehicle capacity.
