MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

National Foods prides itself in developing and growing its people! We are thrilled to announce the opening of job opportunity for a Management Accountant in our National Foods Distribution Business Unit.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will provide financial leadership, commercial insight, and operational support across transportation and distribution activities to drive cost efficiency and business performance within the Business Unit.

As the Management Accountant your key responsibility areas are:
Prepare annual budgets and monthly or quarterly forecasts for fleet, fuel, maintenance, staffing and distribution operations.
Monitor and control key logistics cost drivers including fuel, tyres, repairs, overtime, route costs, and third-party transport expenses.
Produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis reports, and KPI dashboards to support performance management.
Conduct route costing and profitability analysis to support pricing decisions and evaluate customer, regional, and vehicle-type margins.
Develop and maintain logistics rate cards, ensuring services are competitively priced and cost reflective.
Track and report on fleet utilization, fuel efficiency, delivery success rates, and warehouse productivity metrics.
Conduct capital investment appraisals (NPV, IRR, APV, and Payback Period) for fleet acquisitions and logistics technologies.

To qualify for this role, you will require the following credentials:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Professional qualification CA(Z) preferred.
At least 3 to 5 years of experience in Management Accounting or Commercial Finance.
Experience within FMCG, Transport, or Logistics environments will be an added advantage.
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems (SAP experience will be an added advantage).
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
