Key Responsibilities and Deliverable Expectations:
- Perform Finite Element Analysis work of simple or complex nature.
- Perform general mechanical design work.
- Perform pressure vessel code calculations and designs
- Perform project management functions.
- Liaise with clients in a professional manner.
- Perform site inspections.
- Carry out project administration duties.
Objectives:Short Term: In the short term, a person employed in this position should strive to become proficient with software's, analysis techniques and design codes frequently used in the design of mechanical equipment.
Medium Term:In the medium term, a person employed in this position should be confident in their ability to perform and make decisions regarding the design of mechanical equipment in an independent capacity, with minimal input from senior engineers in the firm.
Long Term:In the long term, a person employed in this position should aim to become a professionally registered engineer who would be employed as a senior engineer within the firm. In the long term, the person employed will also be charged with providing mentorship to junior engineers within the firm.
Scope for progression and promotion:- The firm offers an opportunity to engineers in this position to progress in their professional capacity by way of working in proximity with several experienced engineers.
- A person employed in this role will be offered a chance to progress to a professionally registered engineer and become a specialist engineer with niche Finite Element Analysis skills.
Required Education and Training:Education:- Eng Mechanical or BSc.Eng Mechanical
- Relevant Post Graduate Qualification (beneficial)
Training:- 2-5 years in a design and consulting environment
- Finite Element Analysis
- Exposure to 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor
- Experience designing various pressure equipment
- Experience in the petrochemical industry (beneficial)
