Key Responsibilities
• Produce detailed manufacturing and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks
• Create and maintain sheet metal components and flat patterns
• Develop and maintain complex assemblies
• Manage and administer the SolidWorks PDM Vault
• Produce high-quality renderings of components and assemblies
• Establish, maintain, and update Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Ensure drawing revisions and engineering documentation are accurately controlled
• Coordinate and manage engineering projects to meet deadlines
• Liaise with production, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure design intent is achieved
• Assist with continuous improvement of design processes and documentation standards
Minimum Requirements
• Relevant Draughting or Mechanical Engineering qualification
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman using SolidWorks
• Strong experience with:
o Sheet Metal Design
o Assembly Modelling
o Detailed Manufacturing Drawings
o BOM Creation and Management
o SolidWorks PDM/Vault Management
o Rendering
• Good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Advantageous
• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Knowledge of ERP integration with BOMs
• Project management experience
• Experience with weldments and fabrication drawings.
