Key Purpose of Job:
To plan, coordinate and oversee TSL Metroline passenger transport operations, develop operations strategy for service efficiency and maintain productivity profile of TSL Metroline operations. Take responsibility for the management of TSL Metroline’s buses as well as the preparation of budget to ensure expenditure is monitored and controlled and that value for money is obtained. Provision of leadership and management to staff within the business unit, including dealing with grievance, disciplinary, capability and absence issues, as well as acting as the primary contact with fleet and road transport regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily bus operations and operational staff
- Oversee budgeting, cost estimates, and operational expenses
- Ensure effective communication across operations, finance, HSE, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Monitor passenger complaints and ensure prompt resolution
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, company policies, and HSE standards
- Supervise vehicle maintenance, servicing, accident reporting, and driver operations
- Lead team performance management, staff development, and training initiatives
- Prepare operational reports and performance statistics
Requirements:
- A good University degree
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a bus transport company, with at least 3 years in a management role
- Relevant professional certification and membership of a recognized professional body is an added advantage
