II. ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Entrepreneurship in the Digital and Gig Economy (EDGE) program is a five-year national program developed by the Mastercard Foundation in partnership with Hybrid Designs and its consortium partners. The program aims to unlock over 300,000 dignified and fulfilling employment opportunities for economically disadvantaged young people across Ethiopia.

Central to this initiative are two innovative digital platforms managed by Hybrid Designs:

• Qegnet: A dynamic online marketplace for the creative industry that connects brands with talented gig workers for contests, custom designs, and skill showcases.
• Fetroader: A comprehensive sales force and affiliate marketing platform that connects businesses with gig workers for tasks such as product demonstrations, social media promotion, and customer service.

By scaling these products and supporting 1,041 MSEs, EDGE is transforming Ethiopia into a competitive hub for both domestic and offshore outsourcing.

III.  Short Description of the Position

The Partnership & Placement Officer I (FetroAder) is essential for driving the "Youth in Work" (YiW) target. By coordinating the end-to-end "Pathway to Work" through formalized gig-work linkages and sustained partnerships, this officer professionalizes the matching process. This strategic focus reduces the transition time between training and employment, preventing participant frustration and securing sustainable income streams for youth specialized in the creative and sales force products.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pathway Coordination: Lead the coordination of the "Pathway to Work" to ensure trained youth are successfully linked to active work opportunities on the Qegnet and Fetroader platforms.
• Matchmaking Professionalization: Professionalize the matching process between talented gig workers and corporate brands to reduce transition times between training and employment.
• Partnership Development: Develop and maintain sustained partnerships with businesses, brands, and agencies to secure a continuous flow of tasks, creative contests, and commissions.
• Creative Talent Placement: Facilitate the connection of creative talent to specific client needs, including custom design work and digital asset management on Qegnet.
• Sales & Marketing Placement: Manage the placement of youth into roles for product activation, digital moderation, and affiliate marketing through Fetroader.
• Work Quality Monitoring: Monitor and ensure that placements result in dignified work and consistent earnings for the targeted youth demographics.
• Curriculum Alignment: Work with training leads to ensure curriculum and training materials remain aligned with the specific requirements of marketplace clients and sales force partners.
