Job Details

A well-established multinational organisation is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its Cape Town office. Reporting to the UK Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payrolls across the UK, Ireland, UAE, and South Africa.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with international Finance, HR, Operations, and external payroll providers while gaining valuable exposure to complex, multi-country payroll environments. The organisation offers a collaborative culture, global exposure, and the chance to contribute to an expanding international business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and support monthly, fortnightly, and ad-hoc payroll activities across multiple regions.
  • Manage payroll queries relating to salaries, leave, pensions, tax, statutory payments, and payroll corrections.
  • Liaise with external payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy within payroll systems.
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations, payroll journals, and supporting reports.
  • Assist with pension submissions and payroll-related statutory reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain annual leave, sickness, and employee absence records.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, and operational teams regarding payroll matters and employee remuneration.
  • Support employee self-service systems and payroll administration functions.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with applicable legislation and company policies.

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education:
  • Relevant Payroll Qualification (advantageous)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Payroll, or a related field (advantageous)
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Administrator role
  • Experience working with outsourced payroll providers
  • Exposure to high-volume payroll processing environments
  • Experience handling payroll reconciliations and payroll reporting
  • International payroll exposure will be advantageous
Skills:
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional stakeholder management skills
