Job Summary
- The Pharmacy Technician will assist the Pharmacist in dispensing medications, managing pharmaceutical inventory, and ensuring smooth daily operations within the pharmacy unit.
- The ideal candidate must be professional, attentive to detail, organized, and committed to quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Medication Dispensing Support:
- Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing prescribed medications
- Package and label medications appropriately
- Ensure accurate measurement and preparation of medications
Inventory & Stock Management:
- Monitor drug stock levels and expiry dates
- Arrange and organize medications properly on shelves
- Assist in stock taking and inventory documentation
- Report low stock or expired products promptly.
Patient & Customer Service:
- Attend to patients and customers professionally
- Provide basic guidance on medication usage as directed by the Pharmacist
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Record Keeping & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and prescription files
- Ensure proper documentation of dispensed medications
- Support daily pharmacy administrative activities.
Pharmacy Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure cleanliness and proper hygiene within the pharmacy unit
- Follow all pharmaceutical and healthcare regulations
- Support the Pharmacist in maintaining safe medication practices.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid Pharmacy Technician certification / licence
- Previous experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting is an added advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be responsible, organized, and patient-friendly
- Ability to work under supervision and follow professional ethics
- Basic knowledge of medications, prescriptions, and inventory management
- Computer literacy is an added advantage.
