Experience:
- Grade 12
- National Diploma in Mining Engineering / BTech Mining / related qualification – Advantageous.
- Surface Blasting Certificate for Coal Mines
- 3–5 years in a Senior Production / Supervisory role within an opencast environment.
- Proven experience in managing large teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily mining production activities, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and pit operations.
- Ensure execution of mining activities in accordance with approved mine plans and support short-, medium-, and long-term operational planning.
- Implement and manage production schedules to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Lead, manage, coach, and develop Production Teams and associated support functions to drive operational performance.
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and regulatory standards, including the Mine Health and Safety Act.
- Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification, risk mitigation, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Manage operational costs and optimise resource utilisation through effective production, strip ratio, and blast cost management.
- Monitor equipment availability, utilisation, and operational performance to maximise efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure product quality standards are met, statutory and operational reporting is completed, and continuous improvement initiatives are driven.
