Job Details

What you will be doing:

  • Own and support the lifecycle, health, and continuous improvement of enterprise Kafka platforms.
  • Administer and maintain Kafka environments, including Confluent Platform and/or Confluent Cloud.
  • Design, implement, and optimise DevOps pipelines and infrastructure automation.
  • Develop automation scripts using Python and Bash.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support platform deployments.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or Ansible.
  • Monitor platform performance, availability, and reliability through proactive observability.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Azure Monitor.
  • Implement and maintain Kafka security, including TLS/SSL, SASL, and ACL configurations.
  • Troubleshoot Linux-based systems and resolve complex platform issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve platform resilience, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership and contribute to the continuous improvement of DevOps and platform engineering practices.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in Systems or Platform Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years' hands-on experience administering Kafka platforms.
  • Experience with Confluent Platform and/or Confluent Cloud.
  • Strong DevOps and automation experience.
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Ansible.
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Cloud experience, preferably with Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of Kafka security, including TLS/SSL, SASL, and ACLs.
  • Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Azure Monitor.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
