Role Description

  • This is a full-time, on-site Radiographer role based in Lagos. The Radiographer will perform diagnostic imaging examinations, including X-rays and other radiologic procedures, in accordance with physician requests and established protocols. Daily responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, operating radiologic equipment, optimizing image quality, and ensuring accurate imaging records and documentation. The role involves applying strict radiation safety standards, maintaining and checking equipment functionality, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to support timely diagnosis and treatment. The Radiographer will also provide patients and families with clear explanations of procedures, uphold infection prevention practices, and follow all hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Radiology and Radiologic Technology, with hands-on experience in diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Radiation and Radiation Safety principles, including safe operation of imaging equipment and adherence to dose-reduction protocols.
  • Foundational knowledge of Medicine relevant to radiographic practice, including human anatomy, physiology, and common acute and surgical conditions.
  • Recognized professional qualification or diploma in Radiography or Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional/regulatory body.
  • Experience in a hospital or acute care setting, preferably in a multi-specialty or critical care environment.
  • Proficiency in using digital imaging systems e.g., CR/DR, PACS and basic computer applications for documentation and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow protocols, and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients of diverse backgrounds and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work rotational shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as service needs require.
