Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching aligned with the school’s curriculum and standards.
  • Assess and mark pupils’ work promptly and effectively, in line with school policy.
  • Administer assessments accurately and fairly, following established procedures.
  • Create and maintain a well-organised, stimulating classroom environment that supports learning and wellbeing.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to pupils and communicate progress effectively with parents and carers.
  • Promote positive behaviour and consistently uphold the school’s values and expectations.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum academic qualification: B.Ed in Primary Education Studies or a B.Sc./B.A./HND from a reputable institution
  • Minimum of 3 years’ continuous post-NYSC experience working with Primary pupils in an international school
  • Must be resident in Ibadan, and live within a reasonable commuting distance of Jericho, Ibadan
  • TRCN certification is highly desirable and will be considered an added advantage
  • Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create a disciplined, respectful and focused learning environment
  • Proven excellence in teaching core subjects—English, Mathematics, and Science—alongside the ability to effectively deliver a broad range of primary-level subjects, tailored to meet diverse learner needs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email, with confident application in day-to-day teaching and administration
  • Ability to adopt and model the school’s handwriting scheme, demonstrating clear, legible and consistent writing
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Highly organised, with the ability to plan, deliver, and maintain well-structured lessons and create high-quality classroom displays
  • Maintains consistently high expectations for pupil behaviour, academic progress, and overall achievement
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of assessment methods, learner tracking systems, and providing effective feedback
  • Clear knowledge of safeguarding procedures, with a commitment to upholding best practices in pupil welfare and protection
  • Well-versed in effective teaching methodologies and committed to continuous professional development and improvement
  • A genuine passion for teaching and pupil development.
