Job Summary

  • The Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that ensure the timely, cost-effective, and quality acquisition of goods and services required for business operations. 
  • The role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies, and driving continuous improvement in procurement processes. 
  • The ideal candidate must have significant procurement experience within a manufacturing environment and possess strong commercial, negotiation, and supplier management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers to ensure the best value, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Lead contract negotiations and establish favorable commercial terms with suppliers.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials, production inputs, equipment, and services required for manufacturing operations.

Supplier Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and implement improvement plans where necessary.
  • Manage supplier risk and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Develop and maintain an approved vendor database.

Inventory & Cost Management:

  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and planning teams to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Analyze procurement spend and implement cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor procurement budgets and ensure expenditure remains within approved limits.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.

Compliance & Governance:

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and documentation.
  • Conduct procurement audits and support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop procurement personnel.
  • Set departmental goals, KPIs, and performance standards.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CIPS, CPSM, CIPSMN, or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years' procurement experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
  • Mandatory experience within a manufacturing industry environment.
  • Proven track record of contract negotiation, supplier management, and cost optimization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
