PROJECT ASSOCIATE

We are seeking a passionate, highly organised, and community-driven Project Associate to join our team in Lagos. The successful candidate will support the implementation of a women-focused skills acquisition and empowerment programme designed to equip survivors and vulnerable women with practical livelihood skills, economic opportunities, and the resources needed to build sustainable and independent futures.

The ideal candidate should be compassionate, professional, culturally sensitive, and deeply familiar with the local community environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support participant mobilisation and community outreach activities
  • Liaise with community leaders, mobilisers, associations, and local stakeholders
  • Assist with training coordination and logistics
  • Register participants and maintain attendance records
  • Support communication with facilitators, volunteers, and participants
  • Assist in distributing training materials and supplies
  • Help ensure a safe, welcoming, and supportive training environment
  • Provide administrative and field support during project activities
  • Prepare simple activity reports and documentation when required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of OND qualification
  • Must speak Yoruba fluently and communicate effectively in Pidgin and English
  • Must be resident in Lagos and highly conversant with communities within Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA, including the local environment, key areas, and community structures
  • Strong knowledge of local stakeholders, community leaders, women groups, mobilisers, CDAs, religious groups, and grassroots networks within the LGA
  • Must reside in or around Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Ajegunle, Amukoko, Tolu, Layeni, Boundary, or nearby communities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for community development, women empowerment, and social impact
  • Ability to work respectfully with vulnerable populations and maintain confidentiality
  • Previous NGO, volunteer, mobilisation, or community engagement experience is an added advantage
