Job Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented QC Technician to join the Quality Control team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory and field tests on concrete and construction materials to ensure compliance with Cemmax's quality standards.
  • This role supports quality assurance by performing accurate testing, maintaining laboratory equipment, documenting results, and ensuring all materials meet required specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct concrete slump tests and accurately record test results.
  • Collect and prepare concrete samples for laboratory testing.
  • Perform compressive strength tests on concrete cubes at the required curing intervals.
  • Conduct aggregate testing, including sieve analysis and moisture content determination.
  • Communicate test results to the batching team to support production and mix adjustments.
  • Maintain the laboratory, curing tanks, and testing equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
  • Inspect testing equipment regularly and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory records, test reports, and quality documentation.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with company quality standards, testing procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment HSE policies and consistently use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment PPE.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Candidates should possess a National Diploma ND, Higher National Diploma HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Materials Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years' experience in concrete quality control, laboratory testing, or construction materials testing.
  • Experience in a ready-mix concrete or construction materials laboratory will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of concrete and construction materials testing procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills.
  • Good documentation and record-keeping abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate test results accurately.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is an added advantage.
