About the Program
The Global Communities Food for Progress (FFPr) 2025, Partnership for Productivity (P4P) Project in Ethiopia, is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This five-year initiative is focusing on enhancing and strengthening of the livestock market systems in Ethiopia. The project aims to make the livestock sectors more productive, resilient, and profitable, thereby driving economic growth in the country.
P4P utilizes five integrated interventions, that will be implemented in collaboration with both US and Ethiopian private sector stakeholders. The interventions include:
- Increase Use of Improved Agricultural Techniques and Technologies: Promote the adoption of advanced techniques and technologies to enhance agriculture and livestock productivity.
- Increase Availability of Quality Inputs: Ensure Ethiopian farmers have access to high-quality agricultural/livestock inputs.
- Trade Capacity Development: Support efforts to improve trade opportunities within the livestock market systems and value chains.
- Increase Access to Finance and Risk Management: Expand availability to financial and risk management services to livestock producers.
- Policy and Advocacy: Support policy and institutional reforms to create and expand market access for quality livestock production inputs and technologies needed by Ethiopian farmers.
The Opportunity
Are you passionate about supporting efficient financial management and ensuring smooth administrative operations at the regional level? We are seeking a Regional Finance and Administration Assistant for Sidama and South Ethiopia Region to support the implementation of financial and administrative functions for the project. Reporting to the Senior Finance Officer, you will work closely with program and operations teams to maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with organizational policies, and provide effective administrative support that facilitates seamless project delivery across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management Tasks
- Prepares Monthly Cash Projections/ cash advances in collaboration with field team
- Effect Payments for approved individuals/ beneficiaries once approved by the approvers
- Verifying all invoices for payment and ensure expenditures are charged to appropriate codes and cost centers
- Supports staff members to collect and settle advances timely
- Handle cash payments and settlement for the project training and workshops
- Scan all the finance vouchers and archive as necessary in the SharePoint
- Communicate field program team in a weekly basis for the advance clearance settlement
Administrative Tasks
- Assists in preparing programs for visitors, including hotel bookings
- Supports materials procurement at the regional and field level
- Supports arranging travel schedules and related logistics, together with expense claims for staff
- Maintains office environment and stationary supplies with appropriate records
- Responds to queries promptly and in a friendly manner
- Liaises with the appropriate co-workers for office supplies and use of office equipment
- Facilitate payments for the field level meetings, training and workshops
- Supports HR activities such as recruitment, timesheet collections, staff benefit management
