Job Details

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Registered Safety & Health Officer (Part-Time) to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations while promoting a safe and healthy work environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying risks, implementing preventive measures, conducting training, and ensuring adherence to the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular occupational safety and health audits to identify workplace hazards and risks.
  • Advise management on practical measures and appropriate techniques to minimize occupational safety and health risks.
  • Assess the need for preventive and corrective actions to safeguard employees' health and safety.
  • Design, organize, and deliver safety and health training programs, maintaining accurate training records.
  • Liaise with the Syndicate of Co-Ownership of Columbia Court regarding the coordination and implementation of safety and health measures.
  • Carry out risk assessments at intervals not exceeding two years, or as otherwise directed by the relevant authorities, and maintain proper records.
  • Recommend occupational safety and health programs and initiatives to improve workplace safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels on safety and health matters between management and employees.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of all work areas and document findings in the appropriate registers.
  • Monitor and supervise the implementation of safety arrangements and preventive measures.
  • Investigate employee complaints related to health and safety matters.
  • Investigate occupational accidents, incidents, and dangerous occurrences, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct fire drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2005, the amended Act 2022, and any other applicable regulations.
  • Perform any other duties related to occupational safety and health as required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management or a related field.
  • Registered Safety & Health Officer certification as required by local regulations.
  • Sound knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2005 and its amendments.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Strong communication and training skills.
  • Ability to work independently and provide practical safety recommendations.
  • Proficient in report writing and record keeping.
