SAICA Article Clerk (2nd Year)

Description:

• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Perform audit fieldwork and audit procedures for a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Prepare working paper files and supporting documentation.
• Assist with accounting functions for companies, close corporations, trusts, and sole proprietors.
• Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Perform bank, debtor, creditor, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
• Assist with income tax calculations and tax return submissions.
• Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
• Liaise professionally with clients to obtain financial information and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with SAICA standards, IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, and applicable legislation.

• Currently completing 2nd Year SAICA Articles.
• Studying towards or in possession of a BCom Accounting, BAcc, CTA, or equivalent SAICA-accredited qualification.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards.
• Working knowledge of IFRS and IFRS for SMEs.
• Basic understanding of South African tax legislation.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience working with accounting software such as CaseWare, Xero, Sage, Draftworx, Pastel, or similar will be advantageous.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
