SAP Functional Consultant (Chief Expert)

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SAP Functional Consultant (Chief Expert) to support and enhance global Payroll and Benefits solutions within a large, complex enterprise environment. This role focuses on operational payroll execution, functional configuration, and ongoing support across multiple countries, ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with statutory, collective, and company requirements.

The successful candidate will work within a global Agile environment, collaborating with business stakeholders, external service providers, and cross-functional IT teams to maintain high-quality payroll operations and continuously optimize processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and provide operationalsupport for payroll runs across multiple countries
• Provide functional support tobusiness teams and stakeholders
• Configure and maintain payrollschemas, rules, and wage types
• Translate business requirements intoSAP Payroll configuration
• Perform functional testing andsupport System Integration Testing (SIT)
• Manage and resolve incidents andservice requests within SLA timelines
• Troubleshoot payroll issues and driveprocess improvements
• Respond to stakeholder queries in atimely and professional manner
• Ensure data accuracy, compliance, andhigh-quality payroll outcomes

• Minimum 10 years' experience in SAP HCM Payroll (operations, support, or development)
• SAP HCM Payroll certification
• Expert hands-on experience with SAPPayroll configuration (schemas, rules, wage types, customizing)
• Strong knowledge of SAP HCMmodules (PA, OM, PT)
• Deep understanding of payrollprocesses, controls, and best practices
• High attention to detail and strongquality focus
• Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in acollaborative, global team environment

• Country-specific payroll knowledge(e.g., ZA, DE, AT, GB, US, HU, CN, MX)
• Experience with off-cycle payrollprocessing
• SAP technical exposure (forms,printing solutions, RFCs)
• Experience with ticketing tools suchas ServiceNow or Jira
• Familiarity with ITIL processes
• Experience working in multinational,large-scale enterprise environments
