Security Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Safeguard company premises, employees, customers, stock and other assets against theft, loss, damage and unauthorised access.
• Verify customers’ purchased items against receipts before goods leave company premises, ensuring that descriptions and quantities match.
• Check incoming deliveries and outgoing goods against receipts, invoices, delivery notes and other authorised documentation.
• Report discrepancies and obtain verification from the responsible supervisor before releasing disputed goods.
• Monitor access to company premises, conduct routine security patrols and maintain vigilance over high-risk areas.
• Maintain occurrence books, visitors’ registers, security logs and records of goods movement.
• Report suspicious activities, suspected theft, security breaches and other incidents promptly to management.
• Enforce security procedures and cooperate with management and relevant departments in investigating incidents.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant security experience, preferably in a retail, butchery, warehouse, farm or commercial business environment.
• Formal security training or certification is an added advantage.
• Demonstrable experience in access control, loss prevention, goods verification, security patrols and incident reporting.
• Ability to maintain accurate security records and enforce established security procedures.
